Clubbing at the Louvre

Last night Katy's host brother invited us all to go out with him and his friends to a club and it was SO MUCH FUN! It was a different experience going to a French club, but we were with a group of French people our age who could show us the ropes and help us have a great night.

The first major difference is that Laurent (Katy's host brother) told us to meet him at 11:30. They go out much later than we do in the U.S. Of course I had to drink coffee after dinner to make sure that I could stay up that late :) After we met him and his friends (who were all very nice), we walked to the club and when we turned around we realized that we were standing about 50 feet from the Louvre. It was pretty incredible. We definitely don't go out dancing at a place near world famous museums in Chicago...

Inside the club they were playing all American music. It was hilarious because everyone knew all the words to all the songs! Ha! There was even a song we had never heard about Obama. It was kind of bizarre but so fun because we of course loved the music.

We also learned very quickly that French guys love American girls. Of course there were some creeps, but we were with Laurent and his friends so we felt very comfortable and stayed with them the whole night. We also met really nice people from all different backgrounds.

Clubbing in Paris is very expensive and we definitely won't be doing it often, but it was a great experience and a great way to meet new people. Plus, now we have a group of French friends that we can go out with or ask questions to or whatever. All in all it was a great night clubbing next to the Louvre!
